SKY IN FLAMES unites brutality and mysticism in the release of "The Funeral Winds" EP

Death metal band from Rio Grande do Sul presents their densest and most ritualistic phase in a new album recorded at From Hellcords Studios.

The veteran Brazilian Death Metal band SKY IN FLAMES has announced the promotion of its latest and most ambitious work: the EP "The Funeral Winds". Available since April 2025, the record marks a turning point in the band's career, which began in 2002, presenting a sound that pushes the boundaries of extreme metal by incorporating symphonic layers and immersive atmospheres.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at From Hellcords Studios (Porto Alegre/RS), under the production of Henrique and Wagner Santos, the EP is the result of an intense creative process that took place between October 2024 and March 2025. The result is a dense production, designed to capture the band's new identity: a fusion between the raw aggression of traditional Death Metal and dark, occult melodies.

Sound Rituals and Deep Thematics

"The Funeral Winds" is not just a record of aggression, but a dark journey. The five unreleased tracks explore themes such as self-knowledge, rites of passage, the teachings of martyrs and the concept of using evil as a tool for necessary transformation.

The highlight that demonstrates the power trio's versatility and audacity is the closing track, "Om Namah Shivaya". The song incorporates the mantra dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, creating a unique amalgam between Eastern mysticism and the weight of extreme metal, consolidating the band's proposal to unite the ritualistic and the profane.
